Los Angeles County bans official travel to Florida over ‘Don’t Say Gay’ law

Los Angeles County has barred official journey to Florida above the state’s so-named “Don’t Say Gay” law — but Sunshine Condition officers are contacting the “woke” go California’s reduction.

The LA County Board of Supervisors voted this week to bar staffers from traveling to Florida except it would “seriously harm the county’s passions.”

The motion comes in response to a new Florida legislation that prohibits sexual orientation and gender identity instruction for kids in kindergarten by the third quality.

“Many of the holidaymakers in Florida have frequented us from states with mandates and limitations, like California, to enjoy the freedoms and normalcy that Florida has turn out to be renowned for less than Gov. DeSantis’ leadership,” she said. “These are items that everybody can appreciate, regardless of their gender or sexual orientation.”

The LA movement — sponsored by Supervisors Sheila Kuehl and Hilda Solis — asserts that Florida’s laws will endorse mistreatment of LGBTQ learners.

“Schools should be spaced that foster open up discussion, crucial considering, significant engagement and the risk-free exploration of suggestions,” they wrote. “The implementation of this monthly bill would build an atmosphere that stifled such a lifestyle and stifles learning itself.”

The board also banned official journey to Texas this 7 days following the condition controversially classified some transgender-linked health care methods for minors as boy or girl abuse.

That solution, the motion claimed, impedes the potential of youngsters to “discover who they are and experience protected in their feeling of self.”

“This order is discriminatory, dangerous and just plain cruel,” Solis and Kuehl wrote.
