The Abilene Convention & Guests Bureau hosted a booth at the African American Vacation Convention in Topeka on April 12. The party, hosted in partnership with Check out Topeka and TourKANSAS, celebrated Kansas’s tourism marketplace and have to-see communities and attractions.
“This was a good event that allowed us to meet encounter-to-facial area with team tour planners,” Julie Roller Months, Abilene CVB director, mentioned.

“Attendees savored hearing about the new exhibits at the Eisenhower Presidential Library and Museum and recognized Ike’s part in developing the Interstate Method,” she mentioned.

Judy Patterson, a disability advocate, motivational speaker and tour planner, shared she experienced polio as a youngster and wore leg braces. She was featured in an advertisement when she was a younger woman in the 1950s along with Ike that browse ‘Ike claims Merry Xmas and Judy does, way too!’
“It was wonderful to meet up with facial area-to-confront with these planners and share Abilene’s story!” Roller Weeks explained. “I appear ahead to viewing them once more in Abilene.”
